Frequently Asked Questions
Find answers to common questions about Argus
Is my browsing data private?
On the free plan your data never leaves your browser and we cannot see it. Syncing is a Premium feature that stays off until you turn it on. While it is on, the time you spend per site each day is uploaded to our servers so it can be shown on your other devices. It is sent over an encrypted connection, is only available to your account, and you can delete it from our servers at any time.
How does Argus categorize websites?
Argus comes with a built-in list that sorts common websites into work, social, entertainment, news and shopping. Sites it does not recognise are shown as "Other".
Can I export my data?
Yes. Everyone, on any plan, can export their data as a JSON file from the extension's settings.
Does Argus work on multiple browsers?
Argus is available for Chrome today. There is no Firefox version yet.
Will Argus slow down my browsing?
No, Argus is designed to be lightweight and efficient. It runs in the background with minimal impact on performance.
