Terms of Service
1. Acceptance of Terms
By installing or using the Argus browser extension, or by using this website, you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, please do not use Argus.
2. The Software
Argus ("we", "us", "our") is free, open-source software for Chrome and Firefox that shows how you spend your time on websites, blocks the websites you choose, and runs focus sessions. Its source code is published under the MIT License on GitHub. The MIT License governs your rights to use, copy, modify and distribute the code; these Terms cover your use of the extension and this website.
3. No Accounts or Payments
Argus has no accounts, plans or payments. Every feature is free.
4. Donations
You can choose to support Argus with a donation through Ko-fi. Donations are voluntary gifts: nothing is promised in return, and they do not change what you can do with Argus. Ko-fi's own terms apply to any donation.
5. Your Data
Everything Argus records stays in your browser. How that works is described in our Privacy Policy, which is part of these Terms.
6. Acceptable Use
You may not use Argus or this website:
- For any illegal purpose
- To harm, threaten, or harass any person or organization
- To interfere with or disrupt this website
7. Disclaimer of Warranties
ARGUS AND THIS WEBSITE ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.
We do not warrant that Argus will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that defects will be corrected. Keep a backup of your data if it matters to you; Argus lets you export one from its settings.
8. Limitation of Liability
IN NO EVENT SHALL WE BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION LOSS OF DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, RESULTING FROM YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE ARGUS OR THIS WEBSITE.
9. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the new Terms on this page and update the "Last Updated" date. Using Argus after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
10. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
